The benefits of aromatherapy are tremendous. It’s exciting, really, that something natural and from the earth can have so many healing properties. According to http://organicfacts.net, “some of the health benefits of aromatherapy include its ability to reduce anxiety, ease depression, boost energy levels, speed up the healing process, eliminate headaches, boost cognitive performance, induce sleep, strengthen the immune system, reduce pain, improve digestion, and increase circulation.
So in my ongoing quest to be the best person I can be, as a mom, friend, daughter, sister, co-worker, etc., I’ve decided to incorporate essential oils into my Ultimate Body & Soul Challenge to vastly improve my health and wellbeing. Since my challenge incorporates diet, fitness, and meditation, I’ve explored the benefits of essential oils to help with each of these. Here’s what I found out:
Use Lemon essential oil in water to alkalize the body.
Peppermint is great for reducing your appetite and curbing cravings.
Peppermint is also an energy booster. Smelling it can really get your blood pumping! Try combining peppermint and orange oils and rubbing them together in your hands, then inhaling. It’s a natural energizer!
Panaway can be applied direct on any sore areas, such as muscles, neck and feet. Or, use a few drops dropped in epsom salts and put in bathwater for a 20 minute soak to soothe sore muscles.
Not all essential oils are created equal, though. It is critical you are using high-quality products, since you are using oils on your skin, ingesting them, and inhaling them. I use Young Living oils, because they guarantee the purity of their product from the seed to the bottle. You can purchase Young Living oils through me here.
