I hear so many people complain about their skin. Especially as my friends start to ride into their 40’s and 50’s. Wrinkles and age spots are the biggest gripe, followed by dryness, eczema, acne, and rosacea.
And this is the year that I feel like Botox has blown up. It seems like everyone around me is either talking
about it or doing it. I seriously thought that Botox was something only people in Hollywood did. I had no idea it is actually really popular and common!
Everyone’s skin journey is unique. I take really good care of my skin now, but it wasn’t always so. I was ridiculous in my 20’s. Smoking, tanning, loading my skin with all sorts of crap and toxins that probably multiplied my aging tenfold.
But now, as I approach 40, I have never looked or felt better. My skin glows (and I’m not pregnant — promise). My skin feels so smooth, and I look and feel younger and healthier than I’ve ever felt!
What’s the secret? Well, it’s no secret. But I do have three things I do every day to make sure my skin stays gorgeous and healthy.
- Drink tons of water. Half your weight in water, friends! I know it sounds cliché, but it’s so important. You will see the difference, especially if you deal with dry skin or dry patches. If this doesn’t clear the dryness completely, this combined with the other two will!
- Eat clean. Like, really clean. Avoid dairy, gluten, soy and processed foods. Stick with organic, and limit meats to grass fed, no hormones, organic, etc. Some of your skin issues could be associated with allergies or intolerances you aren’t even aware of. If you need guidance in clean eating, contact me. I coach people through it every month.
- Invest in the best skincare products. Your products need to be clean, too. Did you know your skin is your largest organ? You need to be caring for it just as much as what your putting into your body. Also, it takes 26 seconds for what you put on your skin to reach your bloodstream. So if you are buying cheap stuff from the drug store, it’s going to have health implications. If not now, someday. I use Arbonne’s skincare line because it’s the absolute best, with the best ingredient policy. Clean, no parabens, toxins, mineral oil, etc. And you’re actually saving money if you normally buy from Sephora or the department stores.
I want to add that you shouldn’t do one and skip the others. Some people are blessed to not have to do all three to have fabulous skin, but most of us need to incorporate all three into their routines.
I’m starting a 30 day “Love the Skin you’re in” ground on Facebook in June for my skincare clients. If you are interested in trying Arbonne products for 30 days — with a money back guarantee if you don’t see a transformation in that time — let me know. this group is going to be amazing. We will have tips and tricks, meditations, makeup advice, and support. You have everything to gain from this experience. It’s time to love the skin you’re in.
