The Challenge: Each month I’ll choose one characteristic I want to build upon to help me be the best mom I can be. I will determine four goals to help me carve that path, and I’ll report back on my successes and (undoubted) failures, too. In May, my theme is HIPPIE.
May Goals:
1. Read a relevant, popular book on the subject and start taking action as I read. May Pick: All You Need is Less, by Madeline Somerville
3. Try one new activity that may help me accomplish my goal. May activity: Learn how to compost. Also work on reducing the amount of waste from the family. I’m not going to start using cloth diapers (baby steps, folks!), but paper towels are OUT. What else can I do to reduce waste? Let’s find out!
4. Determine how I will involve the husband and kids so it’s a family experience, or at least, family benefit. May plan: I haven’t shared my plans to reduce waste with the family yet. Can’t wait to see how that goes. But this will definitely be a family effort!
What is a HIPPIE mom? I was trying to figure out the best way to describe my theme this month. Earthy-crunchy? No. Mother nature? Nah. I wanted to focus on building a garden and practice more earth-loving, sustainable activities. Hippie seemed like a fun, fitting tribute to my efforts.
This month, I am a HIPPIE mom.
Oh, and follow my progress on my Facebook page!
Great goals! I hope to hear lots of tips from you!
