I had a sobering realization the other day. I may never fit in my old skinny jeans again. My hips are wider than before kids, and I don’t think that’s ever going to change.
I kept thinking my goal was to fit back into these skinny jeans post-baby in order to be successful at being a FIT mom. I worked my butt off this past month with the 28-day PIIT challenge. Can I just say I have never felt so good, so strong, and so fit in my life! Seriously, this new exercise regime has changed my body into a machine. I am so proud.
But yesterday I stepped on the scale.
Gulp.
I haven’t lost a single pound (my goal this month was to lose 5).
Yes, I know. Muscle weighs more than fat. But my goal was to lose weight, not gain muscle. So I was disappointed and a little mopey by this result. But then I had an epiphany. I was looking at this all wrong! My goal was to get fit, and I did. My goal was to be proud of my body, and I am. I rocked the Ultimate Mom Challenge this month. I am definitely a FIT mom!
This was me on April 8. Visit my Instagram to see what I look like on July 27 (less than 4 months later).
Who gives AF about my old skinny jeans and being a size 2? I have two beautiful kids, a new six pack (well, kinda. You be the judge), and a sexy figure. I better go buy new skinny jeans, cuz I’m keeping the body.
This month has been so life-changing for me, I am going to keep at it. I’m going to continue my PIIT
program for another month so I can get even stronger. I may also try Cassey’s nutritional program. My sister did it and said it’s excellent.
Sooo… want to see my results? Want to see what a mom of two who had a baby FOUR MONTHS AGO looks like today? Follow me on Instagram to see why I feel like a million bucks.
Well done! It’s hard especially when your life is now consumed by family responsibilities not just your own
Congrats !
I gave away my pre-pregnancy jeans: regardless of my weight, my hips are a different size after 2 kids. But recently I also gave away my postpartum jeans: the ones that I wore when I just couldn’t with maternity clothes anymore, but also couldn’t fit into my usual size. THAT felt good!
AWE-SOME! I find myself wearing more and more leggings and yoga pants over jeans anyway. They’re just so much more comfortable and I don’t really care how I look these days, anyway 🙂
