I cannot.
I remember when I first started writing, I had to beg my family to subscribe to my emails. I wanted 10 subscribers to feel like this was real.
And now? Now I almost wish my family would unsubscribe so they stop bringing up my posts at family functions. Ha! Just kidding, mom. Love you!
I know I’ve been a bit quiet these past few months. There has been a lot going on. Not all good, because life doesn’t work like that. But I’m trying to grow through it all.
My writing has changed a LOT over the past year. If you’ve been here a while, this is obvious. I have been more open about my commitment to sobriety than ever before. And the response has been overwhelming.
Here’s my promise to you — my readers.
I promise to always speak my truth — however uncomfortable. However ugly, or unpopular.
I promise to tell you about my ups AND downs. If you want a writer who only posts the positive, you can find them in droves elsewhere. I’m going to tell it like it is. That is what I bring to the table.
I will write about my sober journey, my parenting, my experience as a wife, woman and human. And how I’m learning to live through anxiety and depression, raising a child with behavior challenges, grieving a parent who recently died, and a life that sometimes I don’t feel like I deserve.
I will continue to talk about the mental load for moms — and how I think it heavily contributes to the significant increase in drinking we’ve seen in women over the past 10-20 years.
And yes, I will still share parenting mishaps and fumbles and all the funny — because life is simply hilarious sometimes. And if you can’t laugh, what’s the point?

Someday, I will have a big share request for you. I will ask you to buy my book. But that day is a ways off. Please send positive loving energy that the day will come sooner than later. Because I’m ready. My words are ready. My agent is ready. We are just waiting for the right publisher to be ready.
