In recovery meetings, we talk a lot about ‘future tripping,β where we get so hyper focused on something in the future it causes deep insecurity in our present. I suppose in parenting, we simply call this PARENTING. Or more specifically, ‘things that keep moms awake at night.

I could spend every waking moment future tripping about the what ifβs of my kids life experiences, but as Gandhi says, “There is nothing that wastes the body more than worry.”
Can you imagine in 20 years when our kids are all grown and out of the house, wishing we could go back to their childhoods and actually enjoy them this time, knowing we really had nothing to worry about?
Sometimes, when I feel myself future tripping, I hear my future self whispering exactly that to me.
